US House Passes Bill that Provides Funding for AAM Infrastructure

美国众议院通过法案,为先进空中交通基础设施建设提供专项资金

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill that aims to provide $25 million in grants over two years to plan and build vertiport infrastructure for advanced air mobility (AAM) and future eVTOL operations.

美国众议院通过法案,提供2500万专项资金,以支持未来两年垂直升降机场、先进空中交通基础设施和eVTOL运营的规划和建设。

“We applaud the House of Representatives for passing this important legislation, which will support the future of on-demand aviation,” said Ed Bolen, president and CEO of NBAA, in a press release. “The targeted investments outlined in this legislation will assist in creating new, innovative and sustainable air transportation networks throughout our country that will support hundreds of thousands of green jobs while also ensuring our nation’s global leadership in aviation.”

Pete Bunce, president and CEO of GAMA, said the House’s decision to pass the two bills is encouraging news for the AAM industry.

“The support of Congress will be instrumental in the emergence of AAM and its facilitation of additional transportation options, job creation, economic growth, further environmental sustainability, and advancement in aerospace technology,” Bunce said. “Through proper planning and infrastructure preparation, and close cooperation with the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] on enabling rulemaking, we can lead the way in this promising new sector.”

Argeo First to Operate Maritime Robotics’ Mariner X Unmanned Surface Vessel

The first operator of the new Mariner X USV platform is Argeo. Dubbed Argus, Argeo’s first unmanned survey and inspection vehicle is intended to exploit the strong demand for accurate ocean mapping, especially within the growing offshore wind market. The Argus USV is geared to conduct advanced mapping and inspection services using robotics and autonomous ocean space technology for offshore and energy projects in water depths from 2–200 meters.

The Mariner X’s substantial astern deck space fits two actuated moonpools and two dedicated sensor positions, allowing for a wide range of surface and sub-surface sensors and other payloads.

Another feature of the Mariner X is the hull and superstructure design, based on a collaboration between Maritime Robotics, Ulstein Design, and local boat designer Innovation JBA. The shape of the foreship is intended to facilitate improved force distribution, and the tampered front enables a gentler displacement to allow better stability during poor weather conditions. “This translates to fewer disturbances and thus better data quality when surveying”, said Hovstein.

“As a multi-purpose platform, the Mariner X is designed to replace or operate as a force multiplier in conjunction with a conventional crewed survey vessel. This can significantly reduce both the costs and environmental impact of operations at sea”, says Pederick.

Japan’s First Autonomous Drone ‘Skydio’ to Provide Real-Time Video Transmission Service, Facilitating the Inspection of On-the-Spot Situations like Catastrophe and Disaster

Up till now, Skydio must manually extract data from the drones after shooting, therefore it takes time to review and share the data on the cloud, especially in the event of a time-consuming disaster, we receive a large number of request of real-time video transmission service.

Japan Releases a New Regulation to Ban the Flight of Unregistered Small Drones

日本启用新规,禁飞未登记的小型无人机

On June 20th, Japan started to implement the regulation that the owners of unmanned aircraft like mini drones have to make a registration.

日本6月20日启用了规定小型无人机等无人航空器持有者必须登记的制度。

It is reported that the so-called mini drones refer to UAVs, whose hull with battery weigh above 100 grams. The explicit definition is on the purpose of quickly fixing on the owners who involved in accidents or disputes. All of the unregistered drones are banned from flying. Any violators will be punished with imprisonment of no more than one year or a penalty of no more than 0.5 million yen (approximately equals to 25 thousand RMB).

据悉,规定中的小型无人机是指含电池的机体重量在100克以上的无人机,目的是为了在发生事故或纠纷时迅速锁定持有者。禁飞非登记的无人机,违反者将处以一年以下有期徒刑或50万日元(约合人民币2.5万元)以下罚款。

According to registration system, owners must declare information like name, address and model to Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.After paying a handling fee, there will be an identification number. However, drones are unable to be registered if there are safety problems like repeated accidents.

根据登记制度, 持有者必须向国交省申报姓名、住址、机体型号等信息。支付手续费后获得识别号码。若屡次发生事故等安全上的问题,则无法登记。
